The room and bathroom were good size and exceptionally clean. The location is wonderful; walking distance to many Paris sights and right over a Metro station that can get you anywhere in Paris quickly. We would stay here again. (Also, there is a wonderful restaurant right outside the front door. It is called Montparnass 1900. The decor, service, and especially the food are not to be missed!)   Guest rating : 9/10 Recent review by : M. on 18/10/2004 Having heard horrific things about the majority of hotels in Paris (price vs. value, tiny and often smelly rooms, cardboard breakfasts, rude staff, etc...), I was not expecting much for my money. With the Edouard VI however, I was very pleasantly surprised. Our room was indeed small, however was well layed out and had three huge French windows each leading on to a balcony looking down over the busy square. Cool decoration, very clean and (with the windows closed) quiet. The breakfast was fully adequate, even for a Brit, and all the staff smiley and genuinely willing to help. It is a stone's throw from the metro entrance (literally) and a ten minute walk up along a shopping street to St Germain. Would use your service again. Find this sort of thing helpful when traveling to a new place and being 'non-native language speakers'. Besides the obvious... clean rooms, etc... location near the sights and friendly, bi-lingual staff are most important for the service you offer. Room was clean and spacious. The view of the 'streets of Paris' from the 6th floor was fun. The various staff members were all very friendly and helpful with our English-only handicap. Location of the hotel was ideal... being two blocks from the airport bus and right in front of a subway station... within walking distance of all the major attractions. We would definitely use the Hotel Edouard VI again! The rating below is a bit confusing... which end is the highest rating??
